Mobile dental unit in town this week

If you're in need of immediate dental care and can't afford to get it, a traveling mobile dental unit might be able to help. This week, a group of volunteer dentists, dental assistants, and hygienists are in Royal Palm Beach. Inside the mobile dental bus, it looks just a dentist office. People in need of dental care can sign up for an appointment. There is a registration process once you get to the location, and then the local dentist examines you and decides what kind of care you need. Alligator bites Palm City farm worker, Sheriff’s Office says

A Palm City farm worker was bitten by an "agitated" alligator Wednesday, Martin County Sheriff's Office says. The man who works as a pepper farmer was working in a field along 96th Street when the 9-foot, 4-inch alligator attacked. He sustained significant injury with puncture wounds to his thigh where he was grabbed. The worker was able to break free and get away. Police say the alligator as located and removed. Human skeletal remains found in Stuart

An investigation into the discovery of human skeletal remains is underway Wednesday, according to Stuart Police. The skeletal remains were found at an address on Riverside Drive near the St. Lucie River. The investigation is said to be in its early stages. "I cannot provide further details about the incident at this time. I do not want to speculate on information now because I want the investigation to be accurate," Stuart Police Chief Joseph Tumminelli said. "We understand the public's concern and assure you that every effort is being made to gather all pertinent information." ‘Not a lot of wind’: Heavy rain and high temperatures impacting parts of Treasure Coast

A very active weather day in the Treasure Coast from high temperatures to lots of rain. In Vero Beach, heavy downpours were seen across the area. WPTV's Cassandra Garcia spoke with one motorcyclist who said she drove right through it on her way to Fort Pierce from the Coco Beach area. She explained that she is headed to Clearwater and intentionally took a scenic route to avoid bad weather. Riviera Beach administrative officer giving up position to ‘make way for new leadership’

Riviera Beach City Manager Jonathan Evans will be stepping down as the executive director of the citys Community Redevelopment Agency. Evans will remain as city manager. The move puts an end to a controversy as some of Evans critics claim the city manager and CRA director positions are full-time jobs and should not be held by the same person. CRAs are responsible for eliminating blight and bringing investments to communities.
